PISCINA MIRANILIS

For a design competition in Italy, Uli Wagner Design Lab was invited to submit a proposal for a new contemporary art museum house in an ancient roman reservoir ruin. UWDL’s solution was to integrate a modern gallery concept with sensitivity to and respect for the ancient surroundings in this multi-level space. A clear directional visitor flow was organized with self-orientation, along with transitions between the exterior and interior, and all the elements designed for a successful functioning of a contemporary art museum space.
