Fashionphile, Madison Avenue, New York 2018
For the online retailer of secondary market luxury bags and accessories, ‘Fashionphile’, Uli Wagner designed and remodeled a second floor space on Madison Avenue in NY, just diagonally from the Met Breuer.
Upon entering, the customer is welcomed by two generous and inviting seating areas, a reception and a playful feature display, that leads visually towards the back of the showroom; into a partitioned sales area, where the actual bag evaluation and trade between customer and Fashionphile personnel is taking place.
The floor-plan was smartly developed to move as few walls as possible and maintain in principal its previous division between FOH and BOH, however to open it up toward the windows facing the street and an existing skylight in the back; Done with the intention to make the space at daytime as bright and welcoming as possible.
A well-studied lighting plan, generates a similarly positive condition at night and secures good visibility onto the product display also within the center of the space throughout. A warm, differently textured material palette contributes to an overall pleasant atmosphere, that invites to spend time and engage.
