Santoni, Madison Avenue, New York 2014
The Santoni shoe store on Madison Avenue is designed in collaboration with Patricia Urquiola and Uli Wagner Design Lab. In this high profile store build-out for the well-known shoe brand Uli Wagner Design Lab acted as local project coordinator. The challenge in the planning was to work with mechanical systems and maintain a decent ceiling in this already very low interior space.
Uli Wagner took over the plan development at the early stage of the project; led the branding exercise on the existing awning on the facade and proposed a code-compliant illuminated logo in the store, which had a brilliant advertising effect on the streetscape of Madison Avenue at night. Uli Wagner design lab led the project through all phases from schematic design through construction administration. Expediting and filing: Philipp Toscano architect.
